The Story Behind the Collection
A New Chapter Begins
There are moments in business and in life where you feel the shift before you're ready to name it.
This collection began in one of those moments.
After years of building Outback Linen from my home in Longreach, working remotely with women across rural Australia, I found myself in a new season. A new place. A new energy.
In Yeppoon, I felt something I hadn't before, a desire to connect in real life. To sit across from women. To create alongside them, not just from afar.
And for some reason... I kept coming back to birds.
The Thread That Connects Us
Birds felt like a bridge.
Between coast and country. Between where I had been, and where I was going.
The same birds I'd grown up seeing in the Outback... now echoed along the coastline. Different landscapes — same presence.
It reminded me of something deeper: that no matter where we are as women rural, regional, coastal - there is a shared rhythm. A shared connection to nature. To creativity. To home.
Finding Michelle
So I went looking. Not for just any artist but for someone whose work felt like something.
That's when I found Michelle.
Her kookaburras stopped me. They weren't just beautiful they had character. Detail. Presence. They told a story without saying a word.
I reached out a little unsure, a little hopeful and asked: "Have you ever created a fabric print?"
She hadn't. But something in both of us said yes anyway.
From Vision to Fabric
We met for coffee both a little nervous. But what unfolded was effortless.
I shared a vision I couldn't fully explain yet: a diamond composition, birds woven into something wearable, something women could live in. I asked her to trust me.
And she did.
From there, our in-house team transformed her artwork into a repeat pattern carefully, intentionally — preserving every detail that made it hers.
Why It Took Time
This collection has been ready for over a year. Sitting quietly. Waiting.
Not because it wasn't good enough but because it mattered too much to rush.
I had seen something in India an intricate bird embroidery, craftsmanship, patience and I knew I wanted to bring that same level of intention into this collection.
But life, and business, had other plans. There was growth. Restructuring. Chaos.
And through it all, I kept coming back to one feeling: when this launches, it needs to feel calm. Certain. Ready.
The Moment Is Now
Our VIP community experienced this collection quietly first — a soft opening.
But now... it's time. Time to share it fully. Time to let it be seen.

More Than Just Clothing
Feather & field is not just a collection.
It is a collaboration between women. A celebration of regional talent. A reminder that beauty exists in slower, intentional creation.
Every piece carries something deeper — a story, a place, a connection. Designed to be worn not just for a season, but lived in, loved, and returned to.
A New Palette, A New Energy
With this collection comes a shift.
Gold tones — softer, warmer, grounding. Navy — our signature, timeless, strong.
Together, they represent where we're heading: a brand that feels elevated, considered, and deeply connected to the women who wear it.
For the Women Who Wear It
This is for the woman who feels connected to nature. Who values where things come from. Who wants pieces that mean something.
The women of regional Australia have always held something special.
This collection is our way of honouring that.
Worn. Lived in. Loved.
